Michael Saylor, co-founder of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), revealed that over 13,000 institutional investors now hold shares in the company. Surprisingly, Vanguard Group, a firm known for its anti-Bitcoin stance, is the largest shareholder with over 16 million MSTR shares, despite trimming its position by 6.5% in Q4 2024. Other major institutional holders include BlackRock, UBS Asset Management AG, State Street Global Advisors, Cantor Fitzgerald Asset Management, and Morgan Stanley.

The stock has also gained traction among individual investors, with approximately 814,000 retail holders. In total, about 55 million people have indirect exposure to MSTR through ETFs, pension funds, and similar investment vehicles.

Strategy’s inclusion in the Nasdaq-100 index in late 2024 marked a major milestone, reflecting its strong performance driven by aggressive Bitcoin accumulation. The company now holds over 531,000 BTC, reinforcing its status as the largest corporate Bitcoin holder. Year-to-date, MSTR shares are up 5.73%, outperforming the broader Nasdaq-100 index, which has dropped 13%.

Saylor continues to double down on his pro-Bitcoin strategy, recently hinting at another potential Bitcoin acquisition. His ongoing crypto buying spree has kept Strategy in the spotlight, attracting both institutional and retail investors seeking exposure to Bitcoin through equity markets.

As interest in Bitcoin investment surges, Strategy’s stock remains a preferred gateway for traditional investors to access the crypto space, even as major asset managers like Vanguard maintain a cautious stance on digital assets.
