Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said he owns “a lot of XRP” and remains bullish on the token, tying his view to payment utility and Ripple’s efforts to expand financial-institution use of its network.

Garlinghouse made the comments during a Jan. 22 discussion. He did not disclose how much XRP he owns or the value of his holdings. He also said he owns Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL), while describing Bitcoin (BTC) as “a fabulous store of value.”

Garlinghouse’s broader thesis is that XRP’s long-term value depends on demand, liquidity and institutional participation. The XRP Ledger lists settlement times of three to five seconds, average transaction costs of about $0.0002 and capacity of up to 1,500 transactions per second.

Those characteristics form part of the payments case for XRP, although Ripple’s announced treasury products support XRP alongside fiat and other digital assets. Ripple announced Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury on April 1, allowing corporate treasury teams to view, hold, receive and manage fiat, XRP and Ripple USD (RLUSD) through one system.

A securities filing for Evernorth disclosed planned contributions of 211,319,096.061435 XRP from Arrington XRP Capital Fund and 50 million XRP from a Ripple affiliate in exchange for equity. The filing described the transfers as part of a business combination rather than open-market purchases.

The developments provide examples of developing corporate infrastructure around XRP through Ripple’s payments and treasury-management products. Garlinghouse has also linked XRP’s long-term value to demand, trust and liquidity, with institutional use and network activity supporting that view.
