BNB Standard Corporation appointed interim president Alex Odagiu CEO effective Oct. 19 and plans to operate its own BNB Chain validator, with a specialist provider to handle technical work.

The company trades on Nasdaq under BNC. It will select the provider through a competitive process and oversee the validator. BNB from its treasury will remain with qualified custodians during staking. Validator rewards will depend on network activity and performance and are not guaranteed.

Odagiu has served as interim president and a director since June. He will remain on the board and has resigned as an investment partner at YZi Labs in connection with his CEO appointment. He said he wants to grow BNB per share and build an operating business on BNB Chain, beginning with the validator.

The appointment follows the company's change from CEA Industries to BNB Standard on Sept. 29. Its Nasdaq ticker remained BNC. The company also continues to operate consumer and retail businesses, including Fat Panda locations in Canada.

As of July 31, BNB Standard held 515,544 BNB valued at $302.3 million. Digital assets, primarily BNB, accounted for 93.1% of its total assets. The name change followed a $500 million private placement completed in August 2025, with proceeds intended to support the company's BNB treasury strategy.

Odagiu's employment agreement sets a $525,000 annual base salary and a target bonus equal to 75% of that salary. A proposed equity award equal to 2.5% of outstanding common shares depends on shareholder approval of an incentive plan. Performance conditions apply to 60% of the award.

Those conditions use three measures: share price measured in BNB and net BNB per share, each weighted at 35%, and an income coverage ratio weighted at 30%. The measures will be assessed over periods ranging from one to three years.

BNB Standard plans to report on the validator through its treasury dashboard once it is live on mainnet.
