OANDA has appointed former Financial Conduct Authority lawyer Joanna Wilcox as global chief compliance officer, assigning her responsibility for compliance across the group’s regulated businesses worldwide.

Wilcox also became a director of OANDA Europe Limited, the group’s U.K. subsidiary, effective Nov. 1. The directorship filing was submitted Nov. 5. Her global role covers OANDA’s regulated entities, while the board appointment is specifically at the U.K. subsidiary.

Wilcox joined the U.K.’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a lawyer in 2009, became a manager of investigation teams in 2014 and left in 2018. She later held roles at Spreadex, IG Group and FXCM.

The board appointment came after former OANDA Chief Risk Officer Mark Chesterman’s directorship at OANDA Europe ended Sept. 30. TokenPost previously covered Chesterman’s departure.
