OKX Users in Mainland China Question Repeat Verification Notices
Some users said the notices raised tax questions and that they could not close their accounts. CryptoUK has separately proposed biometric checks to reduce repeat document reviews.

Repeat identity checks at OKX have become a concern for mainland China-registered users after some posted on X about receiving verification notices and questioning the process.
Know-your-customer (KYC) refers to identity checks financial institutions use to verify customers.
In posts on X, users registered in mainland China said OKX had asked them to verify their identities again. They questioned a possible tax connection and said they were unable to close their accounts.
Separately, CryptoUK has proposed biometric checks for people who have already completed identity verification. The proposal would allow a biometric step in place of a full document review when people open accounts or wallets, with the goal of reducing duplicate checks.
