Kalshi Files 100-Barrel WTI Perpetual Contract With CFTC
The proposed contract would settle in cash and require no physical delivery. Its CFTC listing shows “Approval Pending (45),” an initial review period that may be extended.

KalshiEX LLC filed a proposed West Texas Intermediate (WTI) perpetual contract with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Oct. 20, putting a 100-barrel oil-linked product under regulatory review.
Identified as WTIPERP, the contract would settle in cash, have no fixed expiration and require no physical delivery. Each contract would represent 100 barrels.
A funding mechanism would keep the contract’s price aligned with a WTI futures reference. That reference is based on a constant one-month maturity.
Kalshi proposes trading from 6 p.m. ET Sunday through 5 p.m. ET Friday.
Kalshi intends to list the contract shortly after CFTC approval. The CFTC lists the proposal as “Approval Pending (45),” indicating an initial review period that may be extended.
