CryptoUK says firms preparing for the United Kingdom’s proposed Market Abuse Regime for Cryptoassets need reliable trading data and expert analysis alongside surveillance technology to detect suspicious activity and maintain clear audit trails.

The proposed framework aims to strengthen market integrity and investor protection by focusing on how firms identify and respond to abusive conduct. CryptoUK says surveillance technology needs to be complemented by human interpretation.

CryptoUK also emphasizes tracking orders across their full lifecycle and keeping clear audit trails. Its planned panel on applying the UK market-abuse rules is set to address practical questions about surveillance systems, data needs and distinguishing legitimate trading from abuse.
