Goldman Sachs Sees a Chance of AI Legislation After Midterms
The bank expects sweeping federal restrictions to remain unlikely regardless of the election outcome.

Goldman Sachs economists Alec Phillips and Abhay Duggirala see a good chance that the next Congress will pass artificial intelligence legislation, while sweeping federal restrictions remain unlikely regardless of the Nov. 3 election outcome.
Goldman also projected that states may pursue stricter restrictions and that Democrats winning either chamber could lead to investigations of large technology companies. The outlook adds to Goldman Sachs' earlier midterm outlook.
Voters will choose the next Congress in the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
