Hong Kong Prices HK$20B Digital Green Bonds With Tokenized Deposits
The multicurrency issuance includes Hong Kong dollar, yuan, dollar and euro tranches, with tokenized deposits used in primary settlement for the Hong Kong dollar bonds.

Hong Kong priced approximately HK$20 billion equivalent in digital green bonds on Sept. 29, introducing Hong Kong dollar tokenized deposits into the primary settlement process through EnsembleTX.
The issuance spans Hong Kong dollar, renminbi, U.S. dollar and euro tranches under the Government Sustainable Bond Programme. Traditional settlement remains available, while the Hong Kong dollar bonds also offer settlement using tokenized deposits.
The transaction is among the first digital bond offerings globally to incorporate Hong Kong dollar tokenized deposits.
