Bitcoin Traded Above $80,000 as $387 Million Bitget Exploit Emerged
Ether posted its strongest quarter since the third quarter of 2024 as ETF inflows, rising onchain DEX volumes and tokenized-equity announcements supported market resilience.

Bitcoin (BTC) traded above $80,000 during the third quarter, while Ether (ETH) posted its strongest quarterly performance since the third quarter of 2024 amid higher trading activity and new tokenization developments.
Market resilience during the period was associated with strong exchange-traded fund inflows, rising onchain DEX volumes and tokenized-equity announcements from ICE and OKX.
Bitget suffered a $387 million exploit, the largest crypto hack of the year. The incident came as market activity strengthened and blockchain use cases expanded.
Attention also turned to the possibility of a Polymarket token. The focus was whether the prediction-market platform would need a token to attract users, rather than whether a launch had been completed.
Privacy and artificial intelligence were additional themes. The Ethereum Foundation’s new ZK API initiative could support broader use of zero-knowledge technology for onchain privacy and secure AI inference.
