Gnosis Chain Cuts Ethereum Bridge Confirmations to About 12 Seconds
The xDAI Bridge and Omnibridge now use Ethereum’s Fast Confirmation Rule, while cross-chain atomic transactions are planned next.

Gnosis Chain has reduced confirmation times for Ethereum deposits to about one slot, or 12 seconds, through the adoption of Ethereum’s Fast Confirmation Rule (FCR) on its xDAI Bridge and Omnibridge.
The process does not require waiting for finality. The two bridges are among the first systems to use FCR in a production environment on Ethereum’s mainnet.
FCR provides an earlier confirmation signal before full network finality. The change gives users moving deposits from Ethereum to Gnosis Chain a faster confirmation path than waiting for the complete finalization process.
The development follows broader work on faster cross-chain infrastructure, including an earlier integration of FCR with Chainlink’s CCIP 2.0.
Gnosis Chain’s next planned step is support for cross-chain atomic transactions. The feature would allow an Ethereum smart contract to call a Gnosis Chain contract and use the returned result within the same transaction.
