Filecoin is adding tools for AI agents to store data and pay onchain while preparing Solstice, an upgrade that shifts more block rewards toward services bringing paying customers to its network.

The new tools let AI agents store files, get public links and make onchain payments. Filecoin also announced Integral Spacetime, a storage neocloud based on Filecoin, and Fil One, an S3-compatible object storage service.

Solstice will allocate a larger share of block rewards to services that bring paying customers to the network. Rewards for consensus-only mining will be reduced, and any unearned portion of the service allocation will be burned.

Filecoin expected the six-year vesting schedules for allocations to Protocol Labs and Filecoin Foundation to conclude around Oct. 15. The expected change is projected to reduce daily new Filecoin (FIL) entering circulation by about 75%.

The Solstice mainnet upgrade is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 19, at 8:59:30 a.m. ET (12:59:30 UTC). Filecoin requires mainnet node operators and storage providers to adopt Solstice.
