Pi (PI) traded at $0.0811 at 5:46 a.m. ET (9:46 UTC) Oct. 16, up 4.10% over the previous 24 hours. The page also said every Mainnet node must upgrade to Protocol 28.

Pi Network set the Oct. 16 target after Mainnet completed its Protocol 27 upgrade and Testnet moved to Protocol 28. Node operators had an Oct. 13 deadline to upgrade ahead of the planned Mainnet transition. The Protocol 28 upgrade schedule set out the target date.

Protocol 28 is designed to improve how the network handles delayed transaction data, let developers upgrade groups of smart contracts together and make changes to stored application data more safely.
