Anthropic lists Claude Opus 5.5 at $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens. The company says its per-token prices are 20% lower than Opus 5 and estimates that typical token-billed workloads cost 40% less to run with the newer model.

The cost estimate applies to typical workloads billed by token use. It compares Opus 5.5 with its predecessor and does not establish how the model’s costs compare with other services on a particular task.

Google’s Gemini 4 Argon has introductory API rates of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens through Nov. 30. Its listed rates are scheduled to rise to $4 and $20, respectively, on Dec. 1, matching Opus 5.5’s rates. TokenPost previously detailed Argon’s introductory rates and scheduled increase.

The rate cards show the price per token, while Anthropic’s 40% estimate concerns the cost of running typical workloads. A task’s total bill also depends on how many tokens it uses, so the listed rates alone do not determine its cost.
