OKX has announced the launch of Exchange OS on X Layer, a framework designed to help developers and institutions build onchain spot, perpetual and outcome markets.

The announcement places three types of markets within the Exchange OS project. An earlier plan for public testing covered spot and perpetual markets, while the announced framework also includes outcome markets.

OKX Web3 previously proposed opening modular trading tools and shared liquidity to X Layer developers. Under the XIP-Exchange OS proposal, developers would gain access to the tools in stages and use them to create onchain markets.

OKX Web3 is preparing a public test of spot and perpetual markets based on Exchange OS. It has not set a date for the test.
