OpenAI began rolling out ChatGPT Slides on Oct. 16, bringing presentation creation and live team editing into Space as it expands ChatGPT’s shared work tools.

The feature is reaching eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise users who have Space access on the web or desktop app. Access is rolling out gradually across qualifying accounts.

Users can start a deck from a ChatGPT conversation, files or an outline. They can also provide an example presentation to guide its design. Once the slides are created, users can edit text, images, shapes and charts directly or ask ChatGPT to make changes.

Teammates with editing access can work in the same deck at the same time and leave shared comments. That lets a team create, revise and review a presentation within Space, the shared workspace OpenAI introduced for team projects.

Web users can export a deck to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides. The export options allow work started in ChatGPT to continue in other presentation tools.

The rollout follows OpenAI’s introduction of Space on Sept. 29, when collaborative slides were planned for the coming weeks. The Oct. 16 release begins making that feature available to eligible users.

Google Slides and Microsoft PowerPoint already support simultaneous editing and comments, and both offer AI tools for presentation work. ChatGPT Slides adds those team tasks to a workflow that can begin with a conversation or files in Space.
