Nous Research Co-Founder Plans Game Studio Tools for Hermes Agent
Ryan Teknium plans to add game engine connections and creative tools through plugins, leaving Hermes Agent’s core unchanged.

Nous Research co-founder Ryan Teknium plans to expand Hermes Agent with game development tools, allowing specialized AI agents to take on more of the work involved in building and testing games.
A developer proposed dividing that work among agents responsible for game logic, character and scene assets, and music and sound effects. Another agent would play the game and flag bugs or parts it judged unengaging. The developer also suggested voice acting for nonplayer characters, pixel art and one-click export to web and mobile formats.
Teknium identified 3D model generation, animation, sound effects and connections to the Unity and Godot game engines as capabilities to add. He plans to implement them through plugins without changing Hermes Agent’s core.
Hermes Agent already supports programming, image generation and coordination among agents. Nous Research has a Blender plugin, and an optional Model Context Protocol (MCP) setup lets agents control the Unreal Engine editor.
The proposed workflow resembles Claude Code Game Studios, an open-source project that divides game design, development and testing among specialized agents. A community project has adapted that approach for Hermes Agent.
Nous Research announced $90 million in funding for its Hermes Agent business expansion in October. Teknium’s game studio proposal remains a plan; the additional tools and engine connections have yet to be added.
