Major U.S. banks are preparing response plans for serious AI-related incidents, aiming to safeguard accounts, restore customer access and sustain operations after a potential impact.

Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan and Bank of America are limiting third-party AI agents and adjusting related policies. Their concern is that customers may give an agent their login credentials, allowing it to take actions without explicit approval. That could make it difficult for a bank to determine whether a customer authorized an action.

The plans address how banks would respond after an incident, alongside access restrictions covered in TokenPost’s earlier report on limits for outside AI agents.

So far, no evidence has emerged that uncontrolled AI agents or hacking attacks have affected customer funds or accounts.
