RedStone announced Oct. 26 that oracle price feeds are live on DogeOS’s public testnet, giving developers external market data for smart contracts on DogeOS, an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible application layer built on Dogecoin (DOGE). RedStone plans to support DogeOS from mainnet launch, but no mainnet date has been announced.

Potential uses include lending, perpetual trading, stablecoins and prediction markets. Price data can help applications value collateral, set loan prices and manage liquidations. No live financial products were identified as part of the integration.

DogeOS’s public testnet opened Sept. 30, giving developers an environment to build and test applications. DOGE is used to pay transaction fees. The application layer supports smart-contract development without changing Dogecoin’s base network.

RedStone plans to support DogeOS from mainnet launch. No mainnet date has been announced.
