Apple Prices M6 iMac at $1,499 as Preorders Open Oct. 28
The 10-core model starts at $1,499, while a configuration with a 12-core CPU and GPU starts at $1,699.

Apple announced its M6-powered iMac on Oct. 27, pricing the U.S. model at $1,499 and setting Nov. 6 availability as it brings the chip to its all-in-one desktop line.
The base configuration pairs a 10-core CPU with a 10-core GPU and starts at $1,499. A version with a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU starts at $1,699. Preorders open Oct. 28.
The new iMac delivers up to five times faster on-device AI performance than the M4 model. Its September 2026 testing compared the M6 iMac with an M4 iMac configured with a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, 32GB of unified memory and a 2TB solid-state drive.
The desktop has a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display and comes in seven colors. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. A 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet option is available with the 12-core configuration.
Apple’s previous M4 iMac was announced on Oct. 28, 2024. Its entry configuration had an 8-core CPU and GPU and started at $1,299, while the new entry model has 10 cores in each. The starting prices therefore apply to different configurations.
“iMac is the world’s best all-in-one, and today it raises the bar yet again,” said Shelly Goldberg, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering.
Apple announced an M6 Mac mini on Aug. 25, with availability beginning Sept. 22. The iMac is another desktop carrying the chip.
The announcement confirms an iMac that TokenPost previewed ahead of Apple’s Oct. 28 event. Preorders open Oct. 28, and availability begins Nov. 6.
