Solflare Opens New Validator, Promises Compensation for Missed Rewards

Solflare has brought a new validator online after a security incident at its staking service provider. The company says it will compensate users who transfer their stake for staking rewards they missed.

Stakers can start the move now by unstaking from Solflare (Legacy) and assigning their stake to the new validator. Those who wait can complete the transfer in a few steps after an app update.

The launch advances Solflare’s earlier migration plan. Rewards on the existing validator had been paused during the transition. Solflare previously said each staker retained control of their stake through their own keys and that validator key holders could not withdraw it.
