BNB Chain Developers announced Nov. 1 that Payment Lane’s governance setup is in place and has cleared verification on the BNB Smart Chain testnet. The development advances a feature that still required governance approval when TokenPost covered the Jenner testnet activation.

Payment Lane gives qualifying payments a default allocation equal to 5% of each block’s gas limit. Governance can raise the share to 10% and manage which contracts qualify; the approved-contract list currently has no entries.

The lane covers nonzero BNB transfers to accounts without code and transactions addressed directly to approved contracts. General transactions cannot draw on unused reserved capacity, while qualifying payments can seek additional block space under existing fee rules.

The reserved allocation does not ensure inclusion or make a transfer free. Developers can use the testnet to check whether destinations and transaction types qualify and whether contracts have approval.
