Buterin and Consigny Show Kohaku Privacy Tools in Ambire Wallet
The Devcon demonstration showed private sends built into the wallet, with Privacy Pools and Tornado Cash integrations.

At Devcon on Nov. 3, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Foundation researcher Nicolas Consigny showed Kohaku privacy features within Ambire Wallet.
The wallet shown at the event had private sends built in, with Privacy Pools and Tornado Cash integrations. The presentation showed how Kohaku’s features can appear inside Ambire Wallet.
Ethereum transactions and addresses are public, allowing activity associated with an address to be examined across multiple transactions. Kohaku aims to make privacy tools accessible from a wallet, so users can reach them without handling each protocol through a separate interface.
Kohaku’s development kit includes packages for Privacy Pools, Tornado Cash and Railgun. The Ambire demonstration featured Privacy Pools and Tornado Cash. The Railgun package is under maintenance, some Kohaku components remain unfinished, and its packages contain unaudited code.
Kohaku also has a separate reference browser wallet that remains in development and supports only the Sepolia test network. That wallet is distinct from the Ambire Wallet shown at Devcon.
Ambire contributor Jordan Enev said, “Our goal is to integrate all privacy protocols supported by Kohaku.” He added, “I can't commit to a specific timeline.”
