Crédit Mutuel Arkéa Confirms Cyberattack, Says Customers Lost No Funds
More than $133 million was involved in the incident, and some in-app transfer functions remained unavailable during security checks.

Crédit Mutuel Arkéa confirmed a cyberattack on the French banking group and said the incident was under control, with no customer funds lost.
More than $133 million was involved in the incident, while the bank said clients would not suffer financial losses. After discovering the attack, it suspended some transactions as a precaution, aiming to stop further fraudulent fund flows.
Some transfer functions in the bank’s app remained unavailable during final checks and security measures. Arkéa said it would restore the affected services as soon as that work was complete.
The group also notified Banque de France, France’s central bank, about the incident. The precautionary suspension has interrupted access to some transfers at a major French banking group, even as Arkéa says customer funds are unaffected.
The halt is temporary, with restoration tied to completion of the bank’s checks and security work. Arkéa’s next step is to finish that review and resume the affected transfer functions.
