Binance founder CZ urged iOS users to install system updates, warning that DarkSword can exploit iOS vulnerabilities through a Safari link. He directed the reminder at users who had not updated their systems in a long time.

CZ said wallet software cannot update a user’s operating system. He framed self-custody as a personal responsibility, saying wallet software cannot maintain the device’s operating system for its owner.

DarkSword can steal locally stored cryptocurrency wallet data from iPhones and iPads, a risk detailed in a DarkSword warning. On Nov. 6, iPhone users were urged to update iOS and check their devices for malicious apps amid reports of iOS self-custody wallet losses.
