Cash App is expanding its cryptocurrency capabilities beyond Bitcoin (BTC) and USDC through a new integration with crypto payments platform MoonPay, giving eligible U.S. users access to a wider range of digital assets.
Through the partnership, Cash App customers will be able to use their balances to purchase cryptocurrencies available on MoonPay, including Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP and Tether (USDT). The move significantly broadens Cash App’s crypto offering without requiring parent company Block (XYZ) to directly support each token.
The MoonPay integration will also allow users to fund transactions involving popular cryptocurrency wallets and platforms using their Cash App balances. Supported services include MetaMask, Ledger, Trust Wallet, BitPay and Uniswap, among others.
Developed by Jack Dorsey-led fintech company Block, Cash App has become a major mainstream gateway to cryptocurrency in the United States, serving more than 50 million customers. However, its direct crypto services have traditionally focused heavily on Bitcoin.
That strategy began changing earlier in 2026 when Cash App introduced support for USDC, the second-largest stablecoin by market capitalization. The addition came despite Dorsey’s longstanding preference for Bitcoin and his reservations about stablecoins.
Dorsey acknowledged in March that customer demand played a role in expanding stablecoin access, while warning against replacing one financial gatekeeper with another.
The MoonPay partnership offers Block another way to respond to growing demand for broader cryptocurrency access. Rather than developing the technical infrastructure needed to directly offer numerous tokens, Cash App can use MoonPay’s existing crypto payment network to provide customers with additional choices.
Morgan Kuntze, Block’s global partnerships lead, said Bitcoin remains central to the company’s digital asset strategy. At the same time, Block wants to provide customers with greater choice and flexibility in how they make payments.
The integration marks another step in Cash App’s evolving crypto strategy as the payments platform moves beyond its historically Bitcoin-focused approach while maintaining BTC as a core digital asset.
