Plasma (XPL) was down 3.4% over 24 hours in a late Oct. 16 snapshot. The card plans do not specify a role for XPL in purchases.

At 7:31:52 p.m. ET (23:31:52 UTC) on Oct. 16, XPL traded at $0.08295. Plasma joined Stripe’s multi-currency card project as a design partner on Oct. 15. The card plans cover spending from balances in U.S. dollars, Brazilian reals, euros, Mexican pesos and Colombian pesos, as well as Open USD (OUSD) and eligible GENIUS-ready stablecoins.

Stripe’s card infrastructure reaches more than 30 countries, with a goal of extending coverage to more than 100 in 2027. The multi-currency experience has no stated launch date. Its broader design includes automatic selection among currency balances, a feature still in development.

The product description does not connect purchases to XPL or explain whether settlement would occur on the Plasma network. Plasma uses XPL for network transactions and validator rewards. The token’s initial supply is 10 billion, and its schedule releases portions of ecosystem and growth, team, and investor allocations each month over several years. A scheduled XPL release made about 1.76 billion tokens transferable on Sept. 25.
