Hudson River Trading Starts Kalshi Trading and Joins $1 Billion Round
HRT’s futures team is handling the activity, which focuses on short-term contracts tied to asset prices.

Hudson River Trading has started trading short-term asset-price contracts on Kalshi and joined the platform’s $1 billion funding round, which valued the prediction market at $40 billion.
The firm began trading about a month ago, with its futures team managing the activity. The contracts settle based on whether an asset’s price rises or falls over a short period. HRT has not entered sports or other nonfinancial event markets on the platform.
The move adds HRT to institutional trading-firm activity in prediction markets alongside Jump Trading and Susquehanna International Group.
