The yield also moved above the previous day’s 5.542% level. The 10-year Treasury yield had reached 5.234% on Monday, its highest level since mid-2007.
The move places long-term U.S. borrowing costs at the center of market attention as Treasury yields continue to reach multi-year highs. For crypto markets, the shift adds to pressure on assets that trade as risk-sensitive investments.
The latest 30-year reading marks the highest level for the benchmark since May 2004.
