Kalshi Weekly Volume Reaches Record $21.52 Billion, Led by Combos
More than 100 million trades took place during the seven-day UTC reporting period. Crypto-category contracts contributed about $2.58 billion.

Kalshi’s event-contract volume reached a record $21.52 billion in the UTC week of Oct. 12–18, with combination contracts making up most of the total and crypto-category contracts contributing $2.58 billion.
The reporting period began at 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 11 (00:00 UTC Oct. 12) and ended at 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 18 (00:00 UTC Oct. 19). Volume rose from $19.03 billion the previous week, and the latest period included more than 100 million trades.
Combination contracts generated about $14.5 billion, roughly two-thirds of the weekly total. A combo brings multiple event outcomes into one position. The category breakdown places combos separately from single-market sports contracts, even though a combo can include sports outcomes.
Crypto-category contracts accounted for about $2.58 billion. Markets on whether Bitcoin (BTC) would move up or down contributed about $1.97 billion of that amount.
Kalshi offers contracts on crypto price movements over 15-minute windows. Those contracts settle on price outcomes; traders do not buy the underlying cryptocurrency through them. The $1.97 billion Bitcoin figure covers up/down markets and should not be read as a figure solely for 15-minute contracts.
The $21.52 billion volume figure values traded contracts at their potential $1 payout, regardless of the price paid to trade them. Rounded daily estimates for the same week add up to about $4.9 billion paid for trades. The difference is especially relevant when lower-priced combination contracts account for a large share of activity.
The latest total follows an earlier, separate period of $3.9 billion in parlay-driven activity. In both periods, combined-outcome contracts had a substantial effect on Kalshi’s headline volume.
