Kalshi Senate Package Faces Risk From Different Settlement Triggers

Control contracts may resolve after specified media calls, while seat-count contracts use the Senate’s composition on Feb. 1, 2027, or a later date when that data is available.

A hypothetical four-contract Kalshi package tied to control of the U.S. Senate and its seat count faces a settlement mismatch because the contracts use different resolution triggers.

A control contract can resolve early when specified media-call conditions are met. A seat-count contract instead uses the Senate’s composition on Feb. 1, 2027, or the next date that data is available.

Those different timelines mean contracts tied to the same election may not resolve together. The four-contract combination was hypothetical; no orders were executed.
