Trader Raises Democratic Sweep Bet's Share Count by More Than 50%
The Election Day purchase came before the first polling places closed. The position later showed a paper return above 32%.

A cross-market trader increased the number of shares in a prediction-market bet on Democrats winning both chambers of Congress by more than 50% on Election Day, before the first polling places closed.
The purchase added to an existing wager on a Democratic sweep, which would give the party control of the House and Senate. The additional shares went into the account's election-market position.
The trader had put about $84,200 into congressional-control positions on Nov. 2. Roughly six hours later, the account opened a separate directional position on Hyperliquid. The Election Day purchase increased its prediction-market holdings.
As expectations of Democratic control of both chambers rose, the election position showed a paper return of more than 32%. That gain remained unrealized; it was not a settled payout.
Before the election, Kalshi's congressional balance-of-power market priced a Democratic sweep at a 71% implied probability at 8:41 a.m. ET (13:41 UTC) on Nov. 2. That was a snapshot of market pricing ahead of the vote.
