DeFi researcher Ignas urged Polymarket to improve its prediction markets and leave perpetual futures to other platforms, framing perps as a way to earn more from speculative users.

Ignas said several measures of activity on Polymarket were declining: active wallets, open interest and transaction counts. He also said election-related trading volume was lower than volume in the platform’s sports and crypto markets, despite heightened interest in the U.S. midterm elections.

Ignas described Polymarket’s users as mainly speculators and said perps could help the platform earn more from that group. He recommended that Polymarket focus on its prediction-market product and leave perpetual futures to Hyperliquid, Lighter and Variational.
