A prediction-market contract on Louisiana enacting a data center moratorium by Jan. 1, 2029, showed 33.5% odds. Contracts for earlier deadlines showed 18.5% for Jan. 1, 2028; 13.5% for July 1, 2027; and 3.1% for Jan. 1, 2027.

On Nov. 3, voters favored data center restrictions in 40 of 41 related ballot measures. Harwood, North Dakota, was the sole exception. The measures included moratoriums, zoning rules and resource-use limits. TokenPost previously covered the 40-of-41 ballot results.

The Louisiana Legislature and Gov. Jeffrey M. Landry are the key decision-makers on whether the state enacts a moratorium.
