Polymarket Hires Goldman Sachs Veteran to Lead Institutional Growth
Lisa Mantil will help attract Wall Street liquidity as prediction markets expand beyond retail trading and sports-related contracts.

Polymarket has hired Lisa Mantil as head of institutional growth, adding a nearly three-decade Goldman Sachs veteran to its effort to attract deeper Wall Street liquidity.
Mantil most recently served as a Goldman Sachs partner and global head of the bank’s ETF accelerator, an internal platform that helped clients launch investment products. She will join Polymarket as the prediction-market exchange expands its U.S. business after an official launch in May.
Her appointment comes as prediction markets seek to broaden participation beyond retail traders. Trading activity has grown over the past year, with sports-related offerings driving much of the increased retail interest, while platforms now pursue institutional liquidity and larger traders.
Polymarket CEO and founder Shayne Coplan said Mantil’s institutional experience and relationships will support the company’s expansion. Mantil will focus on developing Polymarket’s institutional business and extending the use of prediction markets across investment and risk-management strategies.
Institutional adoption remains in its early stages. Prediction-market platforms are facing regulatory disputes with U.S. states over oversight of sports-related event contracts, creating uncertainty around how those products can operate across the country.
The industry is also building market infrastructure for professional participants. Kalshi became the first exchange to complete a block trade in April. Polymarket’s international platform, which operates on the Polygon blockchain and is not regulated in the United States, completed its first block trade one month later.
Polymarket has also continued expanding its leadership team. The company hired Warren Jenson as chief financial officer earlier this month. Jenson previously held roles at Amazon and Delta Air Lines.
Mantil’s appointment gives Polymarket a senior executive focused on institutional growth as the exchange develops its U.S. operations and seeks to bring larger traders into prediction markets.
