China held its key lending benchmarks steady in October, leaving the one-year loan prime rate at 3% and the five-year-and-above loan prime rate at 3.5% after both stood at the same levels in September.

The Oct. 20 update left the one-year rate at 3%, unchanged from September. The five-year-and-above rate likewise remained at 3.5%.

These figures are benchmark quotations. The five-year-and-above loan prime rate does not mean every loan in that maturity category carries a 3.5% interest rate.
