The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) kept interest rates unchanged in a 10-2 vote, with the split pointing to disagreement over the path of monetary policy.

Ten votes supported leaving rates at their current setting, while two votes dissented. The tally gave the hold a majority, but showed the decision was not unanimous. It also separates the immediate choice from the broader debate: the committee agreed not to change rates, while the dissents highlighted different views on where policy should go.

That distinction is central to the vote. A decision to hold describes what the committee did at this meeting; disagreement over the policy path concerns the direction policymakers favor over time. The 10-2 split therefore conveys both a rate decision and division about future policy, while the majority chose no change. The policy path remains the key context attached to the two dissents.
