On-chain data show one Polymarket account withdrew at least $2.7 million across 710 wallets on Oct. 29, as the prediction market restricted international trading amid reports of unauthorized withdrawals.

Social media posts about the withdrawals surfaced on Oct. 29, with some users claiming losses of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Polymarket said a compromised third-party service provider affected its international exchange. The company switched the exchange to cancel-only mode and paused relayer actions. It temporarily stopped international trading as a precaution while it investigated.

Polymarket's international exchange runs on Polygon, a blockchain network. The company said its separate U.S. platform was not compromised and referred the incident to law enforcement.

International trading resumed at 3 p.m. ET on Oct. 29, after the company said it fixed the issue. A similar third-party breach in June led to about $3 million in stolen user funds, and Polymarket said it fixed that earlier vulnerability.
