Kalshi in Talks for $1 Billion Financing at $40 Billion Valuation
The prediction-market platform is discussing the financing with new and existing investors, with completion expected in the coming weeks.

Kalshi is in advanced talks to raise about $1 billion at a valuation near $40 billion, which would increase the prediction-market platform’s valuation from $22 billion in May if completed.
The discussions involve new and existing investors, including Tiger Global and Dragoneer. Existing shareholders Sequoia Capital and Wellington Management are considering jointly leading the round.
The financing is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. If completed at the proposed valuation, it would represent an increase of about 82% from Kalshi’s $22 billion valuation during a $1 billion financing in May.
Kalshi plans to expand beyond sports and elections into more asset categories. Polymarket is also separately seeking about $1 billion in new financing.
The proposed round would intensify competition between Kalshi and Polymarket. Kalshi’s financing remains under negotiation and is expected to move toward completion in the coming weeks.
