Prediction Markets Put Bitcoin’s 2026 $100,000 Odds Near One-Third
Kalshi pricing ranged from 38% to 40%, while Polymarket showed 31% for Bitcoin reaching $100,000 by the end of 2026.

Bitcoin (BTC) prediction-market prices place the odds of reaching $100,000 before the end of 2026 at roughly one in three, giving U.S. traders a real-time measure of market expectations rather than a formal forecast.
Kalshi’s “When will Bitcoin cross $100k again?” contract displayed a 38% chance and a 38-cent trade price on Sept. 29. Its trading panel showed a 40% chance.
The contract resolves “Yes” if the CF Bitcoin Real-Time Index records Bitcoin above $100,000 before Jan. 1, 2027, at 12 a.m. ET. The index uses a trimmed mean of minute-level Bitcoin prices and can settle the contract early if the threshold is reached.
A Sept. 23 Kalshi update put the chance at 39% for Bitcoin trading above $99,999 before the end of 2026. Prediction-market prices can change continuously as traders buy and sell contracts.
Polymarket’s comparable contract displayed a 31% probability and a 33-cent price for Bitcoin reaching $100,000 by Dec. 31, 2026. It resolves “Yes” if any Binance one-minute BTC/USDT candle records a final high of at least $100,000 before the deadline.
Bitcoin traded at approximately $83,477.02 on Sept. 29, down 0.03% for the day. Using an $83,100 baseline, reaching $100,000 would require a gain of roughly 20%.
The two contracts measure similar outcomes but use different settlement rules. Kalshi relies on the CF Bitcoin Real-Time Index, while Polymarket uses Binance one-minute BTC/USDT candles. Their prices therefore provide a directional comparison rather than identical measurements.
A contract trading at 34 cents is generally read as implying about a 34% chance of the outcome before fees and market-friction adjustments. The contracts have end-of-2026 deadlines, although Kalshi can resolve its contract early if the threshold is reached.
